In our last article we had a look at what performance and capacity is when it comes to technology and the importance of assessing these two components in order to maintain high productivity. In this article we explore the importance of monitoring, how to utilise monitoring tools, what kind of information they can provide you and how to interpret that information to ensure you are planning for the future. Do you have a good understanding of whether your technology (hardware and software) is working at its optimum performance for each employee? Is your team working at their optimum productivity, or is the performance of your systems slowing them down? If you…

It’s super important to regularly check your recovery options, whether it’s for your email, Apple ID or any other application. Why? Well in particular for iPhones your Apple ID is what gives you access to your phone, so losing the ability sign in or reset your password could mean losing everything; your contacts, your messages, even all your photos. Well I hadn’t heard of this before and almost lost access to my phone. Here’s what happened... So a couple of weeks ago I had chat with Matt one of our technology advisors here at Enee. He was telling me the…

It goes without saying that computers are the hearts of our businesses. When they are working smoothly, we take our reliance on them for granted. For those unlucky enough to have a security incident take down their network, the impact of a business losing access to their system is crippling. In recent times, it is no exaggeration to say that without proper planning, the likelihood of being impacted is very high, and the impact to the business if it does occur, is extreme. To the point of the business breaking. For example, the past 2 years has seen a dramatic…

It’s finally here, the festive season! Like the majority of people you are probably planning what to do with all your free time over Christmas and the New Year. Maybe it’s that drive up the coast for a few days or you are going lock yourself in a room and finish every season of Game of Thrones. Whatever it is, there could be nothing worse than having to cut short your time off with the news that your online security has been breached. Research firm, Roy Morgan conducted research late 2013 and discovered that more than 50% of Australians do…

A tool for the forgetful! This is by far the best free notebook application in my opinion. The intuitive interface, the streamline note taking features, and wide support for mobile devices make this a real joy to use and a breeze to locate any bit of information that you might have jotted down somewhere. It even performs automated OCR (Optical Character Recognition) which allows you to search within images and pdfs that you have attached to your notes. The possibilities for how to use this application are nearly endless. And if you are an avid Microsoft OneNote user, you might…

Dropbox is a fantastic service which provides seamless synchronisation of files between multiple devices. It also includes automatic file versioning, the ability to un-delete files and to share files with ease to other people for viewing or editing. I have no hesitation recommending this product for both personal and SOHO usage. To read more about Dropbox or to sign up, click the image below.

Some good friends of ours are setting themselves up for horrible, painful death in the name of charity! They are buying a lemon of a car in London, driving it 10,000 miles, over 3 deserts and 5 mountain ranges to Mongolia as part of the Mongol Rally! Idiots, I know. But we are sponsoring them, for good reason!  For the uninitiated - the Mongol Rally in its simplest form: Team up -> Buy a car off your gran -> Drive to Mongolia -> travel 10,000 miles -> through 3 deserts -> over 5 mountain ranges -> all for charity! Yep - all for charity. The trio…
